I don’t even know where to begin. This wedding was an absolute fairytale! Last Saturday, my beautiful little sister married her very own prince charming. (And I swear, him being in his army blues made him look even more prince-like!) I have never seen Marissa smile as much as she has since Paul came into her life. We have all been so excited for this celebration; I can’t believe it has already come and gone. Marissa put so much thought into her romantic backyard wedding, and all that hard work truly paid off. Every detail was absolutely stunning.
Even more special was the fact that Paul and Marissa started their journey as husband and wife in the very same place Paul’s parents tied the knot thirty years ago – their own backyard. The Chandler’s have a beautiful property in Saline, and were so gracious as to open their home to everyone. An outdoor ceremony, tent reception, and picture perfect weather – what more could you ask for? Smaller, more intimate weddings have replaced large, traditional weddings this year, and I am here for it. I hope this post provides all the inspiration for other couples to plan their own romantic backyard wedding celebrations!
I have to give a very special shoutout to my friend and colleague, Jenna, from Jenna Rose Photography. This is the second time she has assisted me at weddings where I was not only the photographer, but in the bridal party. I simply couldn’t have pulled this off without her. With that said, here are my many, many favorite moments from Paul and Marissa’s beautiful wedding day.
