After weeks of hot, sticky weather and cloudy skies, Mother Nature finally gave us the perfect summer weather we all love! And just in time for Abby’s beach senior session! We had the most beautiful evening on the shores of Lake Michigan with soft sunshine, a gentle breeze, and temps in the upper 70s. It truly could not have been more ideal.

This was actually my second time photographing Abby for her senior portraits. We first met up last fall for a downtown session with some gorgeous autumn colors. But this time, we swapped warm autumn tones for cool blue waters. Getting to work with seniors more than once is such a treat! It takes the pressure off, lets us try totally different vibes, and gives them a gallery with tons of variety.

Abby is part of the Class of 2026 at Lowell High School, and she is an absolute natural in front of the camera, especially with having that first practice round. She brought such great energy to the shoot and made the whole evening feel easy and fun. Her confidence, sweet personality, and radiant smile make her so much fun to photograph. The light was golden, the water was sparkling, and Abby’s soft blue dress was just made for this setting. Every image felt like it belonged on a magazine cover!

The beach gives us such a unique canvas to work with—movement of the water, texture of the grassy dunes, wide open blue skies, and that unmistakable Lake Michigan glow. When the weather shows up like it did for Abby, it all comes together in the most beautiful way.
