Yesterday, I had the honor of photographing Tim and Mara’s classic October wedding, and what a stunning celebration it was! Mara put so much thought into every detail; it was fun to see it all come together so beautifully.
The day began at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, where Tim and Mara exchanged vows in a traditional Catholic ceremony. One of my favorite details was all the ways Tim & Mara honored their Irish and Scottish heritage. Her family all wore shamrocks, a nod to Mara’s maiden name. Mara had her own shamrock sewn to her bouquet. She also had with her a vintage handkerchief that has been carried in family weddings since 1896! What an heriloom! And I can’t forget about their custom rings. Both of Tim and Mara’s wedding bands were designed with Celtic knots in mind.
After the ceremony, the couple toured around town in a vintage car they rented for the day. The soft October light, the elegance of the car, and their joyful newlywed glow made portraits an absolute dream! We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful fall day.
Then the celebration continued at Noto’s Old World Italian, where the couple and their guests danced the night away to a live band. They were amazing! It was a joy to see familiar faces, too—one of Mara’s bridesmaids was Shae, a former bride of mine. It was so fun to see her and her husband, David, again and share in their excitement as guests this time.
This classic October wedding was a perfect blend of tradition, family, and love. Tim and Mara’s thoughtful touches, from Irish-inspired details to the unforgettable vintage car, made their day truly one-of-a-kind. Congratulations to the happy couple! Enjoy this peek into their day!
