You know the old saying “the third time’s the charm?” Well, I don’t know where that comes from, but that is exactly what this session was. After two reschedules, one due to weather and the other due to illness, we ended up with the most perfect February day. It’s always such a treat when it’s above freezing and sunny in the middle of winter. When Gabi and I were first chatting about where to do their shoot, she mentioned wanting some photos at a bar because that’s usually their go-to date night. I knew a downtown winter engagement session was just the ticket. Stopping at Grand Rapids Brewing Company was a nice treat, and a nice break from being outside on a colder day.

The best part of any engagement session is really getting to know my couples. Gabi and I had chatted a bit through email, but it’s a lot of fun getting to hear all about how they met, where they work, and about their two little girls in person. And in case you were wondering – Gabi and David met online (just like Shawn and I!); he works at Pfizer and she’s a teacher; and they are chasing around the cutest 10 month old and 3 year old. I cannot wait for this wedding in July, which just so perfectly falls on their five year anniversary.
