Fall Barn Wedding | Carolina & Clyde

9/20/26

POSTED IN: Weddings

When I woke up on September 19th, the forecast for Clyde and Carolina’s wedding day was not looking promising. There had already been a thunderstorm that morning. Several inches of rain had already fallen, and the forecast was calling for more showers throughout the day. The couple originally planned an outdoor ceremony for their fall wedding at Centennial Barn, so we had to adjust our plans. The ceremony moved inside, the grounds were muddy, and the weather became part of the story of the day whether we wanted it to or not. What stands out to me now, though, is how little any of that seemed to matter to Clyde and Carolina. They were there to marry their best friend and celebrate with the people they love, and that was more than enough.

Their day had so many beautiful personal touches. Instead of seeing each other before the ceremony, they chose to have a first touch. Standing on opposite sides of a door and holding hands, they read very sweet private vows to one another. Neither could see the other, which somehow made the moment even sweeter. Clyde even shed a few tears as he listened to Carolina’s words. It was a quiet pause in an otherwise lively day and one of those moments that reminded me why I love photographing weddings in the first place.

Carolina looked beautiful in her strapless lace gown, while Clyde wore a classic black suit. Their wedding party wore deep red, with yellow flowers adding a beautiful pop of color. The combination felt perfectly suited to an early fall wedding at the barn. And then there were their people. From the moment I arrived, I felt incredibly welcomed by their families and friends. Everyone seemed genuinely excited to be there, and that energy carried straight into the reception. The dance floor stayed packed and the celebration continued long after the rain had done its worst.

Clyde and Carolina’s story began when Carolina randomly added him on Snapchat, and now, after building a life together and buying their first home, they are married. Their wedding day may not have unfolded exactly as they originally imagined, but it was filled with everything that mattered: a marriage, a room full of people who love them, and a whole lot of dancing. These are some of my favorite images from their very memorable day!
