Lansing City Hall Elopement | Stephen & Alexandria

7/12/25

POSTED IN: Weddings

Stephen and Alexandria’s story proves that love doesn’t always follow a straight line; it often circles back when the timing is just right. They met in high school. Drifted. Grew up. Lived life apart. And then, years later, something brought them back. Not to who they used to be, but to who they’d become.

Their Lansing City Hall elopement was intimate, meaningful, and full of personal touches. With just two witnesses present, a photographer, and a sweet Judge, they officially said “yes” to forever in a quiet civil ceremony that somehow felt bigger than it looked.

And here’s the wildest part: I didn’t know until the moment she walked into the courthouse that one of their witnesses was a past client of mine! She had referred Stephen and Alexandria to me, and seeing her again—this time as a guest at the wedding—was the most unexpected and humbling surprise.

There’s no better compliment than when someone loved their experience trusts you enough to send their friends your way.

After the ceremony, we made our way to the Capitol building for portraits. The vibe? Regal but relaxed. Classy but low-key. Like if “let’s elope” had a fashion category. And wait until you see the rings! His features her birthstone (emerald), and hers had his (opal). Thoughtful, meaningful, and just plain stunning.

Whether you’re planning a big wedding or an intimate Lansing City Hall elopement like this one, one thing remains true: the heart behind the day is what makes it beautiful.

Stephen and Alexandria, thank you for letting me be part of your beginning as husband and wife. I had so much fun chatting with you both while we took photos all around our beautiful state capitol.

Enjoy this peek into their special day!
