Rainy Maternity Session | Gabi & Arthur

8/10/23

Everyone knows how much I love being a wedding photographer; however, what I love even more is really getting to know my clients and to continue capturing them long after their wedding day! If you’ve followed this blog for a while, you will definitely recognize these two. I have had the honor of photographing Gabi and Arthur through so many chapters, but this new one is the best yet! Not only did I photograph their engagement and their wedding, but they have made it a tradition to have an anniversary session every August. This time, though, there was an extra special guest who crashed their session! Their usual anniversary session turned into a very sweet, albeit rainy, maternity session. Sweet baby Nora is due in just a few short weeks, and I cannot wait to meet her!

In true Michigan fashion, Mother Nature threw us a weather curveball. All last weekend the weather was forecasted to be warm and dry, as is typical for August. However, as I arrived in Saint Joseph, a huge rain storm moved in. This put a literal damper on our plans to shoot at the pier – our usual anniversary session spot where Arthur proposed to Gabi. After a few shots in the rain, we quickly changed course and decided to go back to Gabi and Arthur’s wedding venue – The Whitcomb – to shoot on their beautiful covered porch. I think it is just so serendipitous how this all worked out. Taking these photos of them becoming parents at the place they celebrated becoming husband and wife was extra special.

Gabi and Arthur, you two are rockstars. Thank you for being so flexible and rolling with this session despite the less than ideal conditions. It doesn’t matter where we shoot; you two just can’t take a bad photo. I just love you both and I’m so excited to watch your little family grow.

How cute are these “before & afters”??!
