I say this a lot…. but it’s a fact that I have the very best clients. Taylor and Jason are certainly no exception. These two are a couple of the kindest, most down-to-earth people; it’s so nice having clients with whom you feel like you could be great friends. I had a hunch they would be great when Taylor mentioned she’s good friends with two other Portraits by Mandy brides, Brianne and Rachel. But last night’s lakeside engagement session sealed the deal. I cannot wait for their wedding next summer!
Taylor and Jason both grew up in Michigan, but post undergrad, found themselves out of state at the same school pursuing their Master’s degrees and coaching. Jason eventually landed a coaching job in Kentucky and asked Taylor to come with him. The rest is history. Jason proposed during a trip to visit Taylor’s family for Christmas and they are planning a stunning lakeside wedding at Jason’s parents’ home on Gull Lake.
Since they live in Kentucky, we were limited on when we would be able to do their engagement session. Luckily they were able to come home to Michigan for a visit and we ended up with a perfect July evening; that is, after one reschedule due to crazy humidity and triple digit temps last week! It was definitely worth it to wait a week! Below are a few of my favorite photos from our time together. It worked out perfectly to have their session at the same place they will be tying the knot next year. This beautiful property is a photographer’s dream! Just wait until you see how perfect the golden hour glow was…
Taylor, you are gorgeous! I’m sure Jason agrees. 😉
Jason used the stone from his mom’s ring to create Taylor’s engagement ring. I absolutely adore small touches like that!
What a dreamy location and that afternoon glow was divine!!! Beautiful session. great work Mandy.
What a beautiful couple and location! Love all of the different backgrounds you chose. I grew up near a lake and would LOVE to get back there this summer for a session like this!!
Beautiful lighting! Great job with this session!
So gorgeous! I love how everything feels like you are walking through a day in their life. So natural. Great job.
