Sixty. That’s how many beautiful years of marriage Chuck and Chris celebrated on May 29th. I have to admit, it’s tough to wrap my mind around that; sixty years is twice my lifetime! It was an honor to have been chosen to capture their beautiful anniversary party at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. Perfect weather, a tram ride around the park, heartfelt toasts, and a delicious dinner were just a couple of the highlights of the evening.

In a beautiful speech, Chuck equated such a long, successful marriage to running a marathon. I thought that was just perfect. Most marriages start out strong, but it takes hard work and endurance to reach such an incredible milestone. Not to mention, not many couples are lucky enough to make it to sixty years with the one they love. It’s safe to say this wonderful anniversary party was well-deserved. I have the pleasure of photographing the beginning of many couples’ love stories, but there was something uniquely spectacular about getting to photograph such a different chapter.

I want to say thank you to all of Chuck and Chris’s family and friends for including me in their celebration. Cheers to many more happy years together! I hope you enjoy these highlights of the night.
