Colorful Summer Wedding | Maddy & Jack

A love story that began on a boat six years ago, a vineyard proposal, and finally—Maddy and Jack’s colorful summer wedding day at North Lake Events in Berrien Springs.

I love when a wedding day feels unmistakably like the couple getting married, and Maddy and Jack’s day was full of those little details. The girls wore butter yellow while colorful florals brought so much life to the day. Their outdoor ceremony overlooked the beautiful pond at North Lake Events on a perfect Michigan August day. Maddy thought through every single detail, including signature cocktails that perfectly captured their personalities. Jack’s was Oberon “for the easygoing guy who is always good company,” and Maddy’s espresso martini for someone described as “hyper and sweet with a little dazzle dazzle.” Both delicious. Both so very them.

They shared a first look and very sweet private vows before celebrating with their closest family and friends. And then there were the other little details that made me smile. One was a candy bar where guests could fill little bags with their favorites. I’ve seen those at weddings before. But, never one that also had bags featuring their dog’s photo and treats so everyone could take something home for their pups, too. Adorable!

Every detail was intentional and well-planned. But, this day wasn’t only notable for how beautiful it was, I absolutely loved getting to work with Maddy and Jack. I feel incredibly lucky that I got to to be the one to document this season of life for them.
