Some couples make you feel at home almost immediately. That’s exactly how it felt being around Jacob and Cara.

They’re the kind of people who make everyone around them feel comfortable—kind, down-to-earth, thoughtful in the quietest ways. And after spending the day with the people who raised and loved them, it all made perfect sense.

Their wedding wasn’t just beautiful because Bay Pointe Inn provided another perfect Michigan summer backdrop (although it certainly did). It was beautiful because every conversation, every hug, every toast, and every interaction reflected the same thing: these are two people who have been loved well, and now they’re building a life that reflects that same kind of love.

Getting to witness families like theirs is one of the greatest gifts of this job. It’s emotional and inspiring in the best way.

As the day unfolded, there were so many moments that reminded me why I love documenting weddings. The joyful anticipation before the ceremony. The overwhelming happiness on the faces of their family and friends. The way Jacob looked at Cara as she walked toward him. The laughter and happy tears that seemed to fill every corner of the day.

Bay Pointe Inn was the perfect setting for their celebration. Nestled along the lake with sunshine reflecting off the water, it created such a peaceful backdrop for a day that already felt full of so much warmth. Every detail complemented the relaxed, joyful atmosphere that Jacob and Cara created so effortlessly.

One of my favorite parts of the day wasn’t a grand moment at all—it was simply watching the way these two interacted with everyone around them. They made every guest feel seen. Every vendor felt appreciated. Every conversation felt genuine. They have a way of making people feel like they belong, and that’s such a rare gift.

It was also impossible to miss how incredible their families are. The love, encouragement, and support surrounding them throughout the day wasn’t performative, rather it was deeply rooted. From heartfelt hugs to emotional toasts to joyful celebrations on the dance floor, it was evident that these two are stepping into marriage with an incredible foundation of love behind them.

Additionally, I’d be remiss not to mention the amazing team of vendors who helped bring everything together so seamlessly. It’s always a joy to work alongside professionals who care so deeply about creating an unforgettable experience for their couples, and this team did exactly that.
