This Glass House Community styled shoot was an absolute dream! My good friend and colleague, Sam from Samantha Joy Photo, started dreaming up this shoot a couple months ago. She had a vision, a color palette, and her grandma’s china, and the rest just took off from there. I don’t know how she does it. It’s truly a gift. I joked that she should just put photography aside and become a full-time wedding planner.

If you’ve been a fan of my work for awhile, you may recognize our wonderful models! I had the pleasure of photographing Mara and Jordan’s wedding three years ago and then an anniversary shoot the following year. They are such sweethearts, not to mention gorgeous, and we always have such a great time chatting and laughing together. I will never, ever tire of capturing their ongoing love story! We can’t thank them enough for giving us their time and helping us bring this styled shoot to life.

And while we are at it, I have to give a shoutout to Monique from Mitten Floral for her absolutely breathtaking arrangements! I am always in awe of her bouquets. Also have to mention our fabulous makeup artist, Jenna from About Face of Grand Rapids. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jenna on several occasions the last couple years. She’s a makeup master and I just love her!

With all of my spring and early summer weddings and sessions having to be postponed because of the pandemic, I’ve been itching to get my camera back in my hands. This shoot was just what this creative heart needed after such an extended hiatus, and I was so excited to check out this location. The Glass House Community is a new venue in Zeeland that can host up to 70 guests. Owners Chris and Becky transformed their beautiful property into the most quaint gathering space. Guys, just wait until you see their greenhouse!! If you’ve had to downsize your wedding or are looking for a beautiful space to host a workshop or party, you have to check this place out. (And hire me to photograph it because I can’t wait to shoot here again!)
