Ok, last night’s Lowell senior session was a photographer’s dream! Great clients. Absolutely perfect summer evening. Beautiful golden hour. I’m just thrilled to share all of my favorites of Miss Mael, a senior from Rockford High School. For our backdrop we chose the footbridge over the Grand River, a location I haven’t used before for a session. Needless to say looking at these photos, it was a beautiful spot, but even more special is the personal connection Mael’s family has to that bridge. Her dad is actually the engineer that designed it! I love that we were able to document this chapter in a location with such a cool story. I can just imagine Mael showing her senior pictures to her own kids someday and telling them all about what a cool job their grandpa had.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of senior sessions is getting to know my clients, and through photography, I’ve had the privilege of meeting countless people. Interestingly, I’m starting to find it easier to connect with the moms at the shoot than with the seniors themselves. Am I getting old?! As a mom myself, I can’t help but reflect on how quickly time flies and how soon my own son, Sawyer, will be having his senior pictures taken. It’s a heartwarming, yet bittersweet, thought. Nevertheless, I always relish listening to my seniors talk about their post-graduation plans. Mael, for instance, shared her exciting aspiration of starting nursing school in California – a thrilling adventure for sure awaits her!
Mael, I’m grateful to have been a tiny part of your upcoming senior year, and I wish you all the success and happiness in the world as you follow your dreams in California. You’ve got this!
Had to get one with mom, too!
