Sawyer’s Baseball Themed 1st Birthday

6/25/23

POSTED IN: Personal

Sawyer turned one! Here we are just days later, and I still can’t believe how quickly the past year flew by. The saying “the days are long, but the years are short” holds true! It genuinely feels like I just held my little man for the first time yesterday, and now he’s celebrating his big milestone with a baseball-themed 1st birthday bash that we absolutely loved. Moreover, because Sawyer’s middle name is Rook, we thought “Rookie of the Year” would be a fitting theme. I had so much fun with his cake smash and baseball portraits, and I thoroughly enjoyed putting together this whole party!

Sawyer, my little slugger, this weekend was all about celebrating you and the joy you’ve brought into our lives over the past year. Your smile, giggles, and playful spirit made this party extra special. Dad and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for you! For now, we’ll cherish the memories of your first birthday – a weekend filled with love, treats, and endless happiness – a grand slam!

Here’s to many more incredible birthdays and milestones ahead, Sawyer. We love you more than words can express! So, without further delay, let’s take a look at our amazing weekend. Additionally, Shawn and I would like to say a big “thank you!” to everyone who helped bring this party to life and joined us in the celebration.

The Party!

In my family, we have a first birthday tradition of placing a book, a dollar bill, and a piece of bread in front of the baby and observing what they choose first. The book symbolizes knowledge and curiosity, the dollar represents prosperity, and the bread represents nourishment. The item they reach for first is believed to be a prediction for their future. Without any hesitation, little man went straight for the dollar bill. I was surprised, considering his strong love for food! Sawyer, I can’t wait to witness the amazing things that await you in the future!
Finally, the true marking of a great party – dad falling asleep on the couch at the end! Cheers!
